About the Group

Every family has its own story, and for LGBTQIA+ parents, that story can include both deep pride and unique challenges. LGBTQIA+ parent groups allow parents to connect with others who share that experience, where your identity isn’t something to explain;  it’s simply part of the room. Join a community that sees your family fully.

Groups are open to solo parents, couples, co-parents, and polyamorous families with children aged 0-12 months. Babies are welcome to attend.

These groups are offered virtually so you can join from the comfort of your own home.

About the LGBTQIA+ Parents Group
What yLGBTQIA+ parents will experience.

What You'll Experience

You'll meet weekly with a consistent group of up to 8 LGBTQIA+ parents in a setting designed to feel welcoming and affirming from the start.

Conversations are guided by a trained facilitator but shaped by the group—what you're navigating, questioning, or celebrating. It's a space for real dialogue, mutual support, and connection that builds naturally over time.

What You'll Learn

Conversations reflect both everyday parenting and the unique considerations of LGBTQIA+ families. Topics may include navigating schools and systems, representation, identity, and supporting your child’s understanding of family.

You’ll also explore relationships, community, and the broader social context your family moves through—while learning from others’ lived experiences.

Benefits to Participating

Participating in the queer family group helped ease my concerns about raising a queer family. I was able to communicate and talk to other families that were just like ours, and had older children and had other experiences that put my concerns at ease.

FAQs

Why does PEPS have a program fee?

PEPS is a nonprofit organization that does not receive government funding. Program fees make up approximately 30% of our annual budget and help ensure we can maintain high-quality programming and a dedicated staff team. The remaining 70% comes from donations by individuals, foundations, and businesses—which is why your support beyond the program fee matters so much.

What does my PEPS Group program fee cover?

Your program fee directly supports the programs you participate in—including training and support for Group Leaders, program materials, community partnerships, program evaluation, and the administrative costs that keep everything running. Fees are set based on program length, group size, and the level of facilitation and support involved.

How many families can I expect to be in my group?

One parent groups typically consist of 5–10 families. Groups that have a blend of one or two parent families attending typically consist of 4–8 families.

When should I register for a group?

As soon as possible! Groups fill quickly, so register as soon as you can to secure the group of your choice. If groups have low enrollment, they may be cancelled. When families register early, we know that there is interest in the group.

What if I need to change or cancel my registration?

When requests are made 2 weeks prior (or more) to the start of the group, a full refund will be given, minus the non-refundable registration fee which is equal to 10% of the program fee option you selected. No refunds will be given after the start of your PEPS group. Email us with any requests.

If your group is cancelled by PEPS for any reason, we will do our best to find you a different group or refund you in full.
