Connect with other expectant parents who truly understand what this stage feels like.
Build confidence for what’s ahead, connect with other expecting parents, and feel more prepared for early parenthood with a supportive community to turn to before your baby even arrives.
Online or In-Person
Preparing for a baby brings excitement, big questions, and a quiet awareness that life is about to change in ways you can't fully predict. The Expecting Parent group is an opportunity for expectant and adoptive parents to explore those realities together, honestly and without pressure. You'll find connection, reassurance, and shared understanding with others on the same path.
Groups are designed for families in their late second or third trimester, or those planning to adopt a baby within the next few months. Some groups are for one parent and others are for two parents to attend together.
Groups are offered virtually, with a limited number of in-person options in the Seattle area. Groups are not neighborhood-based and include families from around Puget Sound.
Each group meets weekly for seven sessions in a small, consistent cohort, creating a space where you can show up as you are—whether you know exactly what to say or not.
Led by a trained facilitator, conversations balance structure with openness, blending guided topics with real-life sharing. You won’t be put on the spot, but you’ll be invited in. Over time, the group becomes a place of trust, support, and genuine connection.
While many resources focus on birth and newborn care, this group centers on the lived experience of becoming a parent. Together, you’ll explore how a new baby may shape your relationships, identity, work-life balance, and emotional wellbeing.
Topics include preparing for your baby’s arrival, navigating childcare and career decisions, self-care and perinatal mood changes, evolving relationships, family culture, and the “fourth trimester.” Sessions also include space for sharing highs and lows, building community, and staying connected, culminating in a postpartum reunion to reflect and reconnect.
Many expecting parents go on to join a Newborn group after their baby arrives—a natural next step to keep the community and connection going.
It made me feel less isolated and gave me a place to come where I knew that everyone was experiencing similar things. (My) PEPS Group made me feel like people really GOT it and were in the trenches with me.

To eliminate financial barriers, we offer a range of flexible program fee options, allowing families to choose an amount that fits their budget while keeping fees accessible for all.
As a nonprofit, we encourage you to select Option A if you are able.
If you are unable to afford one of the flexible pricing options, financial assistance can be provided through the support of our generous donors.
To apply, email PEPS staff.
PEPS is a nonprofit organization that does not receive government funding. Program fees make up approximately 30% of our annual budget and help ensure we can maintain high-quality programming and a dedicated staff team. The remaining 70% comes from donations by individuals, foundations, and businesses—which is why your support beyond the program fee matters so much.
Your program fee directly supports the programs you participate in—including training and support for Group Leaders, program materials, community partnerships, program evaluation, and the administrative costs that keep everything running. Fees are set based on program length, group size, and the level of facilitation and support involved.
One parent groups typically consist of 5–10 families. Groups that have a blend of one or two parent families attending typically consist of 4–8 families.
As soon as possible! Groups fill quickly, so register as soon as you can to secure the group of your choice. If groups have low enrollment, they may be cancelled. When families register early, we know that there is interest in the group.
When requests are made 2 weeks prior (or more) to the start of the group, a full refund will be given, minus the non-refundable registration fee which is equal to 10% of the program fee option you selected. No refunds will be given after the start of your PEPS group. Email us with any requests.
If your group is cancelled by PEPS for any reason, we will do our best to find you a different group or refund you in full.
