PEPS SOPA Awards  | PEPS

Written by PEPS | 10/22/2026

PEPS is so grateful for all of our volunteers. Each year, we honor a few of the many people who help make a difference.

At PEPS, we take great pride in recognizing and celebrating outstanding volunteer service.

The Spirit of PEPS Award, or SOPA, was created back in 2011 to honor Cliff Meyer, a retiring Board Member, and to recognize future volunteers who embody that same spirit — those who show deep commitment to parental support, enhance PEPS programming, serve their community, and inspire others to make volunteer service a meaningful part of their lives.

The Spirit of PEPS Award celebrates individuals whose leadership and support in a PEPS Group truly bring our mission to life — connecting parents, strengthening families, and building community.

Spirit of PEPS Award Winner

Since becoming a leader in 2023, Julie Ward has led seven groups – An eight on the way in November. By all accounts, Julie has created engaging, positive, and supportive environments where parents feel safe to share the entirety of their experiences. Julie's participants describe her as “welcoming, warm, empathetic, and a clear communicator".

We are so grateful for the support Julie provides for parents and for PEPS.

2026 PEPS Recognition Awards

In addition to our Spirit of PEPS Award, we’re also proud to present our Recognition Awards, which honor Group Leaders who have made exceptional contributions through their time, service, and commitment to PEPS this past year.

We have two Recognition Award winners this year — each of whom has made an incredible impact on our community. All three were nominated for the Spirit of PEPS Award, and each one has gone above and beyond — donating their time, energy, organizational skills, and connections to make PEPS stronger behind the scenes.

Our first Recognition Award goes to a Group Leader whose participants describe her as “warm and welcoming.” Congratulations, Rebekah Robe!

Our second Recognition   Award winner goes to a Group Leader whose participants shared how much they value that she “Facilitates great discussions that help educate and form strong bonds within the group”. Let’s give it up for Lisa Basu!

PEPS is so fortunate to have all of you in our corner — leading with heart, generosity, and dedication. Thank you for everything you do to help.
